Free Book: STAR Power

STAR Power by Hamp Lee III

The purpose of STAR Power is to address how we as leaders, pastors, etc. can motivate volunteers. Within my own ministry settings, the subject of motivating volunteers is almost non-existent. So many churches are looking for volunteers, but how many are striving to keep them motivated? I'm sure each of you knows at least 10 people (right now) that are stressed and burned out in ministry...with little or no motivation.

This short booklet addresses this issue under the headings of Support, Training, Appreciation, and Restoration (STAR). STAR Power provides a quick look into an area long overdue - motivate your volunteers!

Before starting the Spiritual Combatants website, I had the desire to build a website covering my personal study of the Bible. I felt compelled to write a statement of faith, as was the custom or tradition of other churches and ministries. The traditional method of a Christian statement of faith is listing the particular beliefs of a person, ministry, organization, or denomination. The statements of faith usually cover their beliefs of God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, the state of Man (mankind), Baptism, Satan, Future Glory of the Believer, etc.

Instead of copying another church's statement of faith, I wanted to create my own. I wanted to have a statement that reflected MY beliefs and not something I gathered from someone else. When I sought to complete my statement of faith, I received a revelation about statements of faith.

A statement of faith is a statement of your faith...in Jesus!

Many of the statements of faith we see today fit more in the category of doctrine. One of the definitions of doctrine is a particular principle, position, or policy taught or advocated, as of a religion or government.1 (Now, I believe it is important that all disciples understand their church’s doctrinal beliefs. They should also have personal convictions of what they believe concerning varying issues of the Bible.)

Therefore, the Statement of Faith of Hamp Lee III and Spiritual Combatants:

I believe Jesus of Nazareth is the eternal Son of God. I have placed my faith in Him as the Messiah. I believe Jesus came to this earth to give His life as a sacrifice for the remission of my sins. I believe God raised Jesus from the dead after three days. I believe Jesus now sits on the right hand of His Father until the appointed time when He will redeem the elect to salvation and eternal life.
