A New Name

I've heard a lot of people say they are sinners saved by grace. I would agree with this statement for those that initially come into a believing faith in Jesus Christ, but our redemption through Jesus Christ brings a renewed condition.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) - Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

The new creation has come into existence! Why refer to our old nature?!

Many people use the statement 'sinner saved by grace' as a 'sign' of humility; to associate with those who have not come to believe in Jesus Christ; and/or an 'excuse' for their guilt/shame of sinful behavior after salvation.

If you are in Christ, you're a new creation...you are redeemed!

We are what we think. If we continue to keep ourselves bound to the sinful nature, in any form, we can stand in danger of staying with the nature of a sinner. Therefore, we must renew our minds in order to renew our actions before the Lord and the world.

Romans 12:2 (KJV) - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let's renew our minds with words of affirmation that focus more on our renewed condition! I've been redeemed! You've been redeemed! Let’s celebrate it and allow our light to shine in the world of darkness.
