When called to take a step of faith, many of your questions cannot be answered. This is extremely difficult for some because our society is based on security. Society looks for job security, housing security, medical/dental security, financial security, and estate security after we die.

If we become too comfortable in the world's system (becoming a friend with the world - 1 John 2:15-17), we are in danger of missing God's will for our lives. Many people become fearful for this reason...they cannot accept what faith may not tell them.

Faith does not always tell you:

• where money will come from
• where you will live
• who will help you
• what will happen tomorrow

THEREFORE...

1. You must believe what God promised will come to pass (John 3:18; 1 John 5:5-13).

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God! Our lives as Children of God should be based upon faith. You must believe that He exists and will reward you (as you diligently seek Him). (The reward(s) you may receive may not be monetary.)

2. You must trust God to be faithful to His promises - written and spoken Word.

We must trust God to be faithful to His promises in the Bible and spoken to us through the Holy Spirit . When leading us in faith, God doesn't always fill-in-the-blanks. Taking a walk in faith seems like moving in stages, from checkpoint to checkpoint. Each stage and checkpoint has different requirements and tasks, but they only build upon our past life experiences, teachings, and previous steps of faith (Psalm 56:3-4, Psalm 118:8-9; Proverbs 3:5-6, Proverbs 30:5).

3. We must be obedient to His call of faith regardless of the specificity of His directions. We cannot allow our worldly surroundings to control our thoughts; dictate our decisions; and affect our actions.

There is no security in the things of this earth. Many of us give so much for them, but they can depreciate, rust, mold, be stolen, lost, washed away, burned, etc...

Matthew 6:19-24 (KJV) - Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
