The information below is part of a response I gave to a question on a Christian forum. I would like to share this for your edification in your journey of truth: 2 Timothy 3:1-7 (KJV) - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1. LEARN WHAT IS TRUTH AND WHAT IS FALSE (TRADITION) Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) - And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
It has been accepted that ALL Christians are commissioned to fulfill this commandment given to the 11 Apostles. IT IS CRITICAL that you follow God's will for your life. You can DO a lot in the name of the Lord and still miss the Kingdom of Heaven because you do not follow His will: Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Christians must strive to be obedient to God's Word and His divine purpose. There are many things we can do within the church and our surrounding communities (in His Name), but we must be within the boundaries of God's will. Colossians 2:6-8 (KJV) - As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. |
