Free Book: STAR Power

STAR Power by Hamp Lee III

The purpose of STAR Power is to address how we as leaders, pastors, etc. can motivate volunteers. Within my own ministry settings, the subject of motivating volunteers is almost non-existent. So many churches are looking for volunteers, but how many are striving to keep them motivated? I'm sure each of you knows at least 10 people (right now) that are stressed and burned out in ministry...with little or no motivation.

This short booklet addresses this issue under the headings of Support, Training, Appreciation, and Restoration (STAR). STAR Power provides a quick look into an area long overdue - motivate your volunteers!

To the Churches of the Lord Jesus Christ:

I write to you today to express my growing love and concern for the Body of Christ.  Over the years, I have witnessed an increasing decline in the unity and fellowship among the people of God.  Though we are witnesses to the bond that has been formed through the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and other global epidemics, we have yet to overcome the growing epidemic of unloving hearts and disunities just beyond our pulpits.

In Jesus' prayer for future believers, He stated:

John 17:20-23 (KJV) - Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

If you were to take an honest look across your congregation(s) and across the Body of Christ, you may find disunity and divisions based on:

  • church affiliation (denominations)
  • race
  • sex
  • social status
  • economic class, etc.

Throughout the scriptures, we find numerous references that have tried to steer us from what we have today and toward oneness.  Instead of pointing fingers and determining where to place the blame, I pray you will look across your congregation(s) to address the issue head-on, propose solutions, and implement changes through the counsel of our Lord.  May we all reach beyond the traditions of our forefathers toward the precious Word of God as our foundation for building beautiful 'homes' that will inspire righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

I ask that you will prayerfully consider these statements and evaluate the condition of the people you have been blessed to serve.  May God stimulate your mind, encourage your heart, and empower you to step toward true fellowship, love, and unity.

Peace be unto you in abundance.

God bless,
Hamp Lee III
