There are times when we are offended, slighted, and treated badly by people...even though we want to be respected, appreciated, and supported. There was a time when someone tried to tell me 'in a round about way' that I wasn't doing my share of work. When someone else confronted me about it, I became upset. I had every intention of telling this person a thing or two - to remind them of MY hard work in comparison to their own and ensure they clean up their own yard before looking in mine. Feelings of pain and thoughts of redemption/retribution/revenge whirled within me. The Lord told me that I needed to let it go and I asked Him why.

He said 'you know better.'

Immediately, Father forgive them for they know not what they do was brought to my remembrance. Ouch! I know better because His words were written in my heart. I know better because I am called to love my neighbor as myself. I know better because I am a child of God.

Because I know better, I have a choice to make. I can be disobedient by taking matters into my own hands or I can let go of my right to be 'right' and pray, forgive, love, and trust God (regardless of the outcome).

Living as a Christian is not about proving you're not a pushover, but revealing His love and bringing glory to His name. How can the world see a Christian if we choose not to be one (though our actions)?

You know better...
