The Condition of the Human Race

1. Man (men and women) was created to live in peace and fellowship with God forever.

2. God gave man (Adam) one command which he ultimately broke - not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:15-17). Because of his disobedience to God, mankind and the entire earth suffered as the eternal fellowship upon this earth was severed between God and man (Genesis 3). Man could no longer dwell eternally with God or live forever because of sin (Romans 5:12).

3. Pain, destruction, sadness, disease, war, etc. filled our world for thousands of years. The trials, tribulations, and pains you experience today are a result of one man's decision to disobey God (Romans 5:18-19). The judgment of sin and death is upon us.

4. In creating man, God placed eternity in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Because of this, we sometimes try to fill the desire of eternity with temporal things: money, houses, cars, people, and false religions that leave us feeling emptier.

There are some people that want to come to God and think that if they are a good person they will get into Heaven. Being a good person does not get you into Heaven and eternal life...it comes through Jesus (Isaiah 59:1-3, 64:6; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
