1. Jesus is God, manifested in the flesh, and dwelt among men. (John 1:1-14; 1 Timothy 3:16).
2. Jesus is the Son of God and the answer to man's disobedience. He is the fulfillment of God's
promise to restore the eternal relationship between God and man
(Isaiah 9:6;
Matthew 1:18-25;
Luke 1:26-38;
Acts 13:38;
Colossians 1:15-20,
Colossians 2:13;
1 John 2:1-2).
3. Because of the curse placed upon man and the earth, no man or animal
could remit the original sin permanently. The condition of sin can only be
solved through Jesus, a perfect sacrifice - the shedding of His blood. This
'condition' was established by God to the people He chose as His own - the
Israelites (also known as Hebrews or Jews)
(Ephesians 1:3-7;
Colossians 1:19-20; Hebrews 9;
1 Peter 1:18-20).
4. God loved man so much that he sent His Son Jesus, to be born on the earth,
and to give His life as a sacrifice (pure, holy, and without sin)
(John 3:16-17;
1 Timothy 2:3-4;
Titus 3:4-6).
Jesus meets God's earlier condition for
a sacrifice. The original act of disobedience was through the man (he was told
not to eat of the fruit - though both the man and woman ate of it). Therefore,
the curse and sin of man was promulgated through the man.
So that Jesus would be a perfect, sinless sacrifice, a virgin conceived Him
through the power of the Most High
(Luke 1:26-38). This conception would allow Jesus to be born not of man and without the sin which
originated from man.
5. Jesus gave His life for the world and through His sacrifice; those who repent and believe in Him are redeemed to God. He was unjustly sentenced to death by crucifixion;
died and was buried; on the third day He rose again to be the first of many to
enter into eternal life
(Isaiah 53;
Matthew 20:17-19;
Ephesians 1:3-7;
Colossians 1:15-22,
Hebrews 9:27-28).
6. Jesus is instituted as the eternal King of the Kingdom of God. This Kingdom is not
only for Israelites, but for all people who would repent of their sins and believe in Jesus
(2 Samuel 7:12-16;
Isaiah 9:6-7;
Daniel 2:44;
John 18:33-37;
Hebrews 1:8-9).
7. All power was given to Jesus by God. Thereby his followers are given
authority through His name - acting on His behalf on earth
(Matthew 28:18-20;
John 14:13-14).
8. In God's appointed time, Jesus will return to redeem His people; sentence Satan (the devil) and his followers to an eternal
punishment; and establish a new Heaven and earth
(Psalm 110;
John 14:2-3,
28;
Acts 1:1-11;
Colossians 3:4;
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18;
Hebrews 9:27-28;
Revelation 20,
Revelation 21:1-4).
