Life can fill your schedule very quickly. If you're not careful, you'll feel like your schedule (and other stuff) controls your schedule instead of the other way around. It's been about a week since I updated the site with any journal entries. Though I send daily quotes, the bulk of the site is built around the journal entries. Because of my schedule (or the things I allow to fill it), I have felt a little distant from the site.
As I was surfing the web and admiring a greatly designed website, the Lord reminded me of my purpose with Spiritual Combatants. Among the hustle and bustle of life, I forgot about the most important thing in my life (well, second to salvation) - my purpose in God. Though many of the things I have engaged in were necessary, many things were not...and I allowed them to steal my time.
The Lord told me a few years back that Spiritual Combatants is my purpose. At this time, my purpose is fulfilled through the writing of online teachings in the form of journal entries. If I'm not writing, I'm not fulfilling my purpose. Now, there are times of study, preparation, and silence, but I know this is not one of them. I did not take the time to fulfill the work I have been created to do. I did not stay the course.
Father, forgive me for not staying on the course of Your will. I allowed so many things of the world to consume my life that I did not focus on You or Your desires. I thank You for Your sufficient grace and patience. May Your will fill my heart and be used as the instrument of Your words and hands. In the name of Jesus I commit these things. Amen.
Are you allowing 'stuff' to steer you from the course of God's will?
