Some people find social networks like Twitter mindless and unfulfilling. However, many people are able to use these 'social tools' to communicate throughout the day, connecting with one another and the world. Instead of casting off these social networks with little or no investigation, we should take the time to find out what they are about and pray about their effectiveness within our fellowships. Too often, we serve as 'spiritual policemen' to guard Christendom from the latest inventions, ideas, music, etc. because we disapprove what we cannot control, understand, or explain ourselves. However, these same 'tools' we fight to keep away from our children and the church, can be the same ones the Lord wants to use for His glory and our edification (Acts 5:17-42; 1 Corinthians 1:18-31).

Father, we ask that You would show us which social networking tools can be used for your glory and which should not be pursued. May our hearts and minds be open to your purposes and not our own. May You allow Your chidren to use the social tools You desire to demonstrate your matchless grace, much-needed correction, incomprehensible love...that they will reveal Your Son Jesus whom You sent into the world to redeem us. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
