The Israelites were given specific laws to remain acceptable and holy before a holy God - as He was dwelled among them:
Exodus 40:38 (KJV) - For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
Deuteronomy 23:14 (KJV) - For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
As New Covenant people, how much more should we strive to live holy as the Holy Spirit dwell in us?
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (KJV) - Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
