1. Ready for ‘full-time’ ministry. Right now, thousands of Christians are waiting for the opportunity to go into ‘full-time’ ministry. We are working jobs we dislike (mainly because they keep us from full-time service); supporting bosses we don’t care for; and are surrounded by people that drive us crazy!

As we think about the plight of our situation, we only become more discouraged and enraged because we cannot be where we like and do what we love. Dreams and visions of ‘running free’ for the Lord would dance through our minds, then in a flash, reality sets in – too far from our desire and too close to the surroundings that keep us ‘trapped.’

2. Grow where you’re planted. Instead of becoming angry at the circumstances of our situation, I truly believe that the Lord desires us to be faithful where we are. He wants us to see the beauty of serving Him exactly where He places us. God has blessed me with a great job, people to serve, and a purpose to fulfill, yet I was often too selfish to realize it.

All around us are people that do not know God, need a word of encouragement, or to be strengthened in their faith. There are other times when God wants to teach us about His mercy, loving others, forgiveness, servanthood, and working with excellence (unto Him).

3. Full-time ministry is all around you. No job should be too menial for us to work. God has appointed us to be where we are and He has a definite purpose for us. May we all be proud to serve our co-workers, not because they ‘act’ the way we desire, but because we want to be faithful, obedient, and pleasing to our Father in Heaven.
